Diary of a Homeworker Part 1
6am: Up with a smile and into yoga gear for 45 minutes of yoga including sun salutations and meditational sequence.
6.45am: Brisk 20-minute walk in the sunshine.
7.05am: Shower and dress in a comfortable yet elegant outfit.
7.20am: Make ‘eggcellent’eggs and enjoy with ruby grapefruit segments and soya cappuccino.
EGGcellent breakfast recipe by BagButler -
• Cherry Tomatoes (4, quartered)
• Olive Oil (1 - 2 tbsp)
• Eggs (2 - 3)
• Chilli Flakes
• Baby Spinach
• Black Pepper
• Pumpkin seeds
A good non-stick pan is your best friend here.
Sauté some cherry tomatoes (about 4, quartered) in olive oil for a few minutes, add a few dried chilli flakes.
Add 2 - 3 eggs to the pan and break them up with a wooden spoon mixing them with the tomatoes. At this stage you can also add a small handful of chopped baby spinach. (Just use scissors to chop it directly into the pan)
Add black pepper and a few salt flakes while you continue to cook until the eggs are opaque.
Sprinkle with pumpkin seeds and give a few more stirs before serving with toast, avocado or just as it comes.
You can make an extra portion of this and stash it in the fridge for the next day.
Delicious and promptly made in moments. Whether you add in some squats or press ups while the eggs are cooking is your call.
7.45am: A traffic free school run including an enriching conversation in French with the young one. (Well this is the perfect day version).
8am: On the way back from school listen to Handel’s ‘Messiah’.
8.10am -8.30am: Clear the kitchen, put laundry on, check supplies for dinner.Extract a delicious meal from the freezer that had been batch cooked over the weekend.
8.30am-8.50am: Read for 20 mins whilst enjoying a second cappuccino.
8.50am: Brush teeth and floss to perfection.
9.00: Arrive at perfectly tidy desk.
9am-12.30pm: Work without interruption covering these areas efficiently:
• respond to all emails and answer all requests,
• work on writing and/ or artistic projects,
• book deliveries,
• browse the media for trends and updates.
Remember to drink water at regular intervals and move away from the desk every hour, e.g. stretches and lunges.
12.30pm-1.00pm: Lunch of homemade lentil and tomato soup with a side of asparagus and walnuts with pecorino shavings, all of which were made previously.
1pm-3.30pm: Back to work:
· Packing and checking stock. Arranging couriers.
· Voice calls with bloggers and website/marketing team.
· Respond to any additional emails.
· Tidy desk.
· Feel delighted with productivity and accomplishments.
3.30pm: Leave early for school run. Find the perfect parking place and have time for a quick brisk “walkactive” walk in wind and rain free conditions.
4pm: Drive home listening to the exciting and academically satisfying day enjoyed by the teenager. This conversation conducted in Italian.
4.30pm: More stimulating conversations with offspring while enjoying a nutritious snack of apple slices and peanut butter with a cup of tea.
4.30pm-6pm: Deal with the laundry by putting everything back in its perfect place. Accept Ocado order from the nice driver who has time to take back all the unpacked carrier bags.
6pm: Put dinner in the oven (see 8.10am-8.30am) while preparing a delicious salad to accompany the meal and lay table.
6.30pm: Phone friends and family to check in on them. (They are all happy and well)
6.30pm-7.15pm: Enjoy a delicious meal and feel pleased that this was cooked over the weekend. Appreciate family members narrating tales from their day in a happy and relaxed manner.
7.15pm: All clearing up is completed by helpful family members.
Freshen up and add a few gorgeous accessories to already relaxed but elegant outfit.
Treat yourself with a mid- week trip to the cinema.
10.30pm: Ready to sleep after perfect wind down routine including yoga and reading.
